If you’ve logged into Contractor Accelerator and noticed your drawings are missing, don’t panic. In most cases, they are not deleted; they just aren’t currently stored in your local browser.
Here’s what’s happening and how to fix it.
How the Drawing Tool Stores Your Work
Our drawing tool saves drawings locally in your browser while you work. This allows for faster performance and offline capability.
Because drawings are stored locally:
- Some browsers automatically clear stored data after 7 days.
- If you manually clear your browser cache or site data, your saved drawings will be removed from that browser.
- Switching computers or browsers will not show previously saved drawings unless they are synced and reloaded.
Your drawings are not deleted from the system. They just need to be reloaded into your browser.
Why Only 14 Days of Drawings Appear
When the drawing tool reloads, it automatically pulls the last 14 days of drawings from the cloud.
If you need older drawings:
- Use the search feature to locate the project or drawing.
- Open or interact with that drawing.
- Once opened, it will be saved locally again and remain available in your browser.
- If your cache has been cleared and you do not see 14 days' worth of drawings, you can click here to run the reload link. CAUTION: If you click this link, it will clear your cache, removing all drawings and only pulling the last 14 days.
Why Doesn't The Sync Button Bring Them Back?
The Sync button is used when you are working offline.
If you lose internet connection while creating or editing a drawing:
- Your work is saved locally.
- Once you reconnect to the internet, click Sync to push those changes to the cloud.
If you do not click Sync after working offline, your updates may not be available on other devices.
